The continued growth this year in the contracting market has been positive, and with Government projects set to begin it’s set to be a prosperous year for the core contracting markets.
Experts state that the contracting sector will continue in it’s growth trend, with 1.9M independent professionals out of the 4.6M self-employed in the UK. CEO of Freelancer and Contractor Services Association (FCSA), Julia Kermode recognises that the skills shortages some sectors are experiencing will only further enhance the contractor workforce.
Some state that the new changes to travel and subsistence could be an affecting factor, however, Kermode believes that the assignment rates may rise in light of this but unfortunately not across the board.
As a body of evidence from the past quarter of 2015 shows the rise in popularity for an independent professional life, the 2015 tax measures that were announced will have little impact upon deterring contractors, current and aspiring.
