Going forward into the new year, contractors are set to have more confidence within the UK economy, as businesses are looking to take advantage of flexible workers. According to the REC’s (Recruitment and Employment Confederation) Jobs Outlook for December 2015, results show that there is an 82 per cent improvement in business opinions of the UK’s economic condition.
Technical and Engineering contractors are most likely to see a positive increase in demand for their services in 2016, although 15 per cent of businesses are expecting a shortfall in prospective candidates.
Although there has been some anticipation about the availability of contractors with professional and managerial skills, 13 per cent of businesses are seeing this area with a greater shortfall.
2015 has been the year of growing confidence from both businesses and contractors alike, and now more and more are seeing further improvements in the hiring process as well as pay increases.
