IT Contractors operating outside of London have reportedly seen a 10 per cent increase, according to research by Tech Cities Job Watch. London remains the dominant hub, with a 6 per cent rise for IT contractors, other major cities are now making pace at increasing their contractor headcounts.
Cities such as Newcastle and Manchester both saw an increase of 25 per cent and 30 per cent respectively, meanwhile demand for permanent roles fell by 4 per cent and a staggering 7 per cent in the Capital.
It is said that the increase is partly due to the improvement in transport links across the country, as well as more businesses creating contracting opportunities. Businesses are now looking for shorter term solutions to their problems, and this is where a high quality contractors become valued in business solutions.
As demand rises outside of London, changes to business could mean more widespread opportunities for contractors in the very near future.
