As international businesses are impacted by skills shortages, the demand for contractors is rising according to Manpower Group’s 2015 Talent Shortage Survey . With 42 countries were surveyed globally showing that the number of businesses finding difficulty in filling job roles has risen to 38 per cent.
This 2 per cent increase from 2014 has seen to be the highest percentage increase since 2007. Manpower Group CEO Jonas Prising commented, “From speaking to CEO’s and business leaders across the 80 countries and territories in which we operate, I know talent shortages are something companies struggle with all over the world”.
Contractors can expect a rise in demand for their skill sets after a notable proportion of those companies surveyed, aren’t taking any action toward their recruitment issues. Although, 39 per cent of businesses that are addressing the skills gap are adopting new people practices, whilst 22 per cent are looking to explore new talent sources.
